  3. Policy: Requirements for Graduation From the College of Science
    1. Candidates for the B.A. or B.S. degree must complete at least 183 credit hours of work approved by the dean and the faculty of the college.
    2. To secure proper concentration, as well as distribution of studies, candidates for the B.A. or B.S. degree must have completed the liberal education requirements prescribed in Section 4 of this chapter, and a minimum of 36 credit hours in an approved major subject A department may not require more than 45 hours. In addition, students must select work in one or more allied fields which at the time of graduation shall amount to at least 20 credit hours. The courses selected to satisfy requirements in the major and the allied fields are subject to approval by the major department and the dean.
    3. To prevent undue specialization and at the same time provide a broad foundation for future study, the College of Science limits the work which the undergraduate student may do in any one department. No more than 60 credit hours shall be counted from any one academic department toward graduation with a baccalaureate degree.
