- Policy: Requirements for Graduation from the Graduate School of Education
- Candidates for the B.A. or B.S. degree must complete 122 credit hours of work approved by the dean and the faculty of the school. The candidate for the B.A. or B.S. degree must have completed the general education requirements prescribed in Section 4 of this chapter.
- Candidates for the elementary teacher's certificate meet requirements of a major in education by fulfilling the requirements for a certificate and accordingly will graduate in the Graduate School of Education. Students working towards a secondary teacher's certificate will graduate in the respective colleges of their teaching majors.
- Teaching certificates are awarded by the Utah State Office of Education to graduates of the teacher education programs upon the recommendation of the Graduate School of Education. Programs which meet the requirements for such certificates are those approved by the University Council on Teacher Education and the Academic Senate.
- Teaching majors, composite teaching majors, and teaching minors are authorized in several fields subject to the approval of the University Council on Teacher Education, review by the Academic Senate, and appeal to the university faculty.
